I have not been a part of drama camp before, so don’t have all the volunteer roles we need yet. I need to make sure we have enough directors first to make sure we can have camp. The number or directors we need will depend on the number of kids able to make camp. In 2019, there were 5 plays and each one needs two directors so if this year is the same - we would need 10 directors. Director role: *At the beginning of May, each director will receive the play they will direct and the assigned cast. (Some directors talk to another mom and volunteer to direct a play together or let us know which age group they would like.) The kids should come with their lines already memorized as they receive their lines in May too. *Usually there are some moms who are crafty/artistic that will help with props. Each child will bring what they can for their costume. Each day we will send out one email with what each play still needs for costume/props and families bring what they can. *Directors will need to be at practices, M-Th morning of camp week from 9-11, and for the Thursday evening play at 6:30. (Unless you have the older kids who add Friday morning and evening to their schedule.) *Directors help their cast block scenes and work together. *Practices will be held in a classroom at St. Joseph Cathedral School with some stage time most days. *Sometimes games/activities are needed to fill the time for the younger kid play, as their play is shorter and the 2 hours can be long!
